Same Shit Different Sunday

Well here we are Giants fans. Another football Sunday has come and gone. We are 13 weeks into the season and it feels like Groundhog Day.

Me every Sunday watching the Giants

It's been about a month since my last Giants post and I can confidently say that NOTHING has changed. Oh sure, Jason Garrett is gone but has that made a difference? Not at all. Watching the Giants almost give away the win to the Eagles last week and watching the #strugglebus arrive in Miami today was absolutely maddening. I find myself sitting there watching these games wondering just how exactly every game can possibly look the same if not worse than the previous week. And please if I see Saquon run east to west one more time I am definitely knocking over some trash cans like John Mara in a fit of rage.

John Mara in a fit of rage

It's become clear that it doesn't matter who's coaching, who's calling plays or who's playing Quarterback because nothing ever changes. Giants are on what? Year 4, 5, 6 of this "rebuild" and we have yet to see any improvement. In fact, I think we can all agree that we see some serious regression with this team and its beyond alarming.

While Jason Garrett needed to be relived of his duties and his play calling from 1950 he is certainly not the only one that needed(s) to be let go. And since we are on the topic of play calling I just have to note that I can't actually tell the difference between Jason Garrett and Freddie Kitchens calling plays. Why not just let the fans live Tweet in the play calls at this point?

But the problems go beyond play calling. The Giants are incapable of identifying talent and developing personnel. Its a front office problem, its a GM problem, its a coaching problem, its a lack of talent problem and it's an ownership problem.

But the hits just keep on coming. Literally. It appears Mike Glennon suffered a concussion against Miami this week. So with no Daniel Jones and no Mike Glennon who's left? That's right. You're boy Jake Fromm State Farm (credit to @giantsfootball13 for that one!) and the Giants head west to play the Chargers next week. So, this should go well. #weneedasarcasmfont

Giants got 99 problems and Jason Garrett was just 1 of them

BLOW. IT. ALL. UP.

And I mean ALL of it. If the Giants were going to build a team around anyone it should be Andrew Thomas and they can burn the rest of it to the ground. Thank you for your services Joe Judge, Dave Gettleman, Daniel Jones, Patrick Graham, Saquon Barkley, Freddie Kitchens, Nate Solder and everyone else but your services are no longer needed. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Now, if only we could fire ownership #sundaynightthoughts

Tom Coughlin being the "problem" with the Giants

Take me back to the days when Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning and Kevin Gilbride were the "problems" on this team. I would give anything to go back to those days. To say that now is hilarious because if you go back far enough in my Twitter posts there are plenty of Kevin Gilbride rage tweets to reference. I guess you really don't know what you got till it's gone. My apologies to Kevin Gilbride and if he ever stumbles upon this blog post I hope he accepts my apology. If I only knew then what I know now I would've shut the hell up and enjoyed the ride more. But hindsight is 20/20 and its not 2007 anymore. No, unfortunately it's 2021.

The exact moment in time it all started going downhill

It's truly amazing just how inept this organization can be. The draft picks have been abysmal for the most part and so has the talent. The Giants are in cap hell and re-structuring contracts on the daily. The team is not buying what Joe Judge is selling and neither are the fans. But you know what the hardest part of being a Giants fan is? It's knowing that this organization was once great. Even when the Giants had their bad years they still had their team identity. Defense and Ground and Pound. #thunderandlightening #defensewinschampionships

The Giants are so far removed from what they once were it's incredible. Talk about a fall from grace. Watching this team week after week has become a comedy show and I know it pains this entire fan base to say our beloved Giants are the laughing stock of the league.

The NY Clown Show

I am sure we will get the obligatory John Mara press conference at the end of the season but hopefully he will spare us this year. Much like this Giants team his speech will be predictable and meaningless. Unless John Mara is announcing that he and Steve Tisch are selling the team we don't want to hear how unacceptable this season is to you. Again.

Save the lip service for someone else John. The fans deserve better. In more ways than one.
