I recently put together a list of the best all time quarterbacks to wear the numbers #1 - #19. The article was so much fun to write and got such a favorable response that I figured why not do a running back list!
Sure, I'm aware that some running backs like Gale Sayers (#40) or John Riggins (#44) are all time greats and belong on any best list of running backs. However, most of the numbers in the #40's don't have all time great RB's.
Without furthe ado, here's my list of the best running backs to wear each jersey number #20 - #39. I know this list could be more controversial than the quarterbacks list but that's what opinions are for and feel free to leave yours.
